Imaging System Engineer
This is an excellent opportunity to join a team of talented technologists, imaging professionals and entrepreneurs to create state-of-the-art defense and medical imaging systems in a startup environment. Individual must be highly motivated and have a multi-disciplinary background in imaging, optics, mechanical and camera electronics.
Responsibilities
- Generate test plans, test procedures, and documented production methods for assembling and aligning precision opto-mechanical camera and imaging systems
- Build and test production camera systems; assembling optical, mechanical and electronic components; verifying system performance and specification compliance
- Analyze prototype systems to establish performance and reliability standards; devising and conducting tests; setting up equipment and apparatus; adjusting, calibrating, aligning, and modifying CCD and CMOS components, and parts; to improve performance
- Manage inventory, anticipate supply needs, place and expedite orders, and verify receipt of supplies
- Provide technical support to R&D and Engineering
Skills and Experience
- Experience in assembly of precision instruments
- Experience with CCD and CMOS image sensors
- Opto-Mechanical assembly
- Electrical assembly
- Experience with setting up instrumentation for tests
- Experience with electronics troubleshooting
- Fine tune and align instrumentation
- Set up software for testing and data acquisition
- Knowledge of the inspection of incoming optical and mechanical parts
- Capable of communicating with vendors
- Familiarity with Matlab and AutoDesk Inventor a plus
- Familiarity with multi-spectral imaging a plus
Qualifications
- BS or MS In Optical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer Engineering, or Imaging Technology
- 2+ to 5 years of closely related, hands-on experience in imaging systems
